David Gold Nominated as Secretary of the Automotive Recyclers Association

Professional Automotive Recycler David Gold, Standard Auto Wreckers, Toronto, Ontario, was nominated to be the next Secretary of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) at the ARA Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC on June 18, 2014. The Board will vote to confirm Gold’s nomination during ARA’s 71st Annual Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee later this year.

“David Gold has been on the Nominating Committee’s list of possible candidates to serve on the ARA Executive Committee for many years,” said ARA Past President and Chair of the Nominating Committee, Chris Wright. “We are very pleased that David has accepted the nomination and is ready for the role and responsibilities that come with serving on the Executive Committee.”

Gold has years of industry experience and is a highly respected leader in the professional automotive recycling community in the United States and Canada. Standard Auto Wreckers has been an active member of ARA, the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association and the Automotive Recyclers of Canada for many years.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Dave on many recycling issues over the years,” said ARA President, Ed MacDonald. “His talents, coupled with his profound knowledge of, and commitment to this industry will be decided asset for our association and the membership of ARA.”

Earlier this month Gold opened a new facility in Port Hope, Ontario.
