ARA Defends the Industry Amid Misleading Automaker “Consumer Awareness” Campaigns

ARA submitted a Letter to the Editor of FenderBender magazine in response to their coverage of a Hyundai consumer awareness” campaign.

The Hyundai campaign seeks to dismiss the value of recycled original equipment manufactured (OEM) automotive parts by falsely portraying recycled, aftermarket and salvaged parts the same as counterfeit.

ARA’s response stated that Hyundai’s campaign does a disservice to consumers and defended the value of the over 500,000 recycled OEM parts that professional automotive recyclers sell each day. ARA works on a daily basis to protect and promote the recycled parts industry and respond to attacks on the industry.
